Rohr Park Master Plan Visioning
Help Shape the future of Rohr Park!
The City of Chula Vista is Developing a Master Plan for Rohr Park, and your input matters!
In light of recent news reports, please know that the Rohr Park Master Planning effort is a multi-phase process that will ultimately provide a pathway to project completion in the coming years. While there is no pending action for the City Council at this time, the City of Chula Vista truly appreciates the strong community engagement and thoughtful input we have received in this first phase of the planning effort. The community’s feedback will inform our next steps, which will focus on the golf course component of the plan and the northeastern section of Rohr Park, including the equestrian arena. This work will prioritize alignment with community priorities.
Upon completion of this next planning phase, the City will conduct an environmental review of the Master Plan, as required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Multiple options may be analyzed. The CEQA process will include formal opportunities for public input.
Prior to implementation, the proposed Master Plan will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission for consideration and then ultimately to the City Council for approval. Should the City Council approve the Master Plan, the next step would be to develop a financing plan for the construction of park improvements. The financing plan would also be subject to City Council review and approval. Each of these steps will provide additional opportunities for community input.
The City of Chula Vista is creating a Rohr Park Master Plan – a comprehensive guide that prioritizes future improvements and infrastructure investments at the park over the next ten years.
Why Now?
The Master Plan is needed now to proactively address the evolving recreational needs of the Chula Vista community, guide investment in aging park infrastructure, and ensure Rohr Park continues to serve as a safe, inclusive, and vibrant destination for current and future generations.

History of Rohr Park:
Rohr Park was constucted on the flood plain of the Sweetwater River and was acquired through the generosity of Mr. Fred H. Rohr. this development has offered the City the opportunity to use an imaginaitve theme to blend the stately Rohr Manor Building, picnic areas, gazebos, and creative play areas with a model railroad truck installed by the Chula Vista Live Steamers, Inc., thus creating a spectacular park setting for the City of Chula Vista and the surrounding neighborhood area.
